E-Book: Creating Chiptunes with SID-Wizard – Second Edition
Now available is the second edition of the expanded SID-Wizard manual I wrote in 2012. I have added some chapter (about dealing with noise, calculating bpm etc.). The e-book is up to date with version 1.6 of SID-Wizard. Very nice things added to SID-Wizard since 1.5 is MIDI support and A4=432Hz tuning.

Hi WitchMaster!
Thanks for writing this fantastic manual. I have a question in regard to exporting files. When using SidMaker to produce a prg or sid ,how do you change the Author and title? I can’t find the keyboard shortcuts or access to that part of the screen. Thanks
Glad you like it! 🙂
You need to edit the author and title when you are saving your song in SID-Wizard. You can do this when you are in the save-dialog by press CONTROL (or TAB) to switch between writing a filename and the author info. Use the following format: authorname:title (use a colon to separate author and title).
Great documentation. At first I was hesitant to resort back to a native C64 app, but after using it briefly and discovering the excellent documentation, I was convinced. The MIDI conversion works flawlessly. I’m not a musician, but was able to get great value out of SID Wizard with the documentation provided.
I’m glad the documation was of help, I learned a lot writing it myself.
